Duninald
One of the earliest grants in the Hunter Valley to Captain William Dun in December 1821, the land is on the Paterson River close to the town of Paterson.
Captain Dun’s daughter, Francis married Charles Reynolds in 1844. Duninald was in the hands of the Reynolds family until 2005, when it was purchased by the Wokes family.
We respect the land and the history of the previous landholders.
It is understood that the land was used by the Wonnarua people before the grant to William Dun.
William Dun was well known as a stud dairyman. Charles Reynolds was known for prize winning Hereford cattle & fine horses. Sid Reynolds (1910 – 2001) was known as a pioneer in the propogation of Australian native trees.
What we will be remebered by will be for history to record.
